Engineering
Worldwide Aircraft maintains an engineering staff dedicated to in-house repairs, modifications and supplemental type certificates. Worldwide with its contract designated engineering representatives over the last twenty years, have gained FAA STC Approval for Garrett engine conversions, digital flight data recorders, ATR 42 / 72 passenger to cargo conversions, traffic collision avoidance systems for Embraer EMB-120 aircraft, passenger to cargo conversion for the Embraer EMB-120 as well as other smaller certifications. Worldwide has started the process with the Federal Aviation Administration to develop an in-house organizational design authorization, which will allow Worldwide to gain STC approval through its own in-house certification team. The process of this approval is time consuming and expensive but will allow the company to react quicker to customer modification and alteration requests. Worldwide maintains a full time FAA delegated "Designated Airworthiness Representative" for both "Maintenance" and "Manufacturing" which provides greater synergies between engineering and manufacturing. A large part of Worldwide Aircraft Services extended future lies in its ability to develop niche products to service its customers' needs in a timely cost-effective manner.
